Jacob Waddle begins his second season as the Illinois College head baseball coach in 2020.
In his first season in charge of the Blueboys, Waddle led Illinois College to an 18-18 finish, missing out on the MWC Tournament by one game. A total of four members of the team were named All-MWC South Division selections.
A 2009 graduate of Luther, Waddle played in the tough Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (now American Rivers Conference), earning All-IIAC honors three times in his career and twice finding a spot as an all-region selection. After earning a degree from Luther, he went on to obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Dubuque while coaching across town at Loras for three seasons.
In 2014, after one year at Coe, Waddle left and became an assistant coach at Concordia (NE) for three seasons. There, he helped spearhead a turnaround in which the program broke a streak of 35 consecutive losing seasons and set single-season records for victories two years in a row. He then made a return trip to Coe, serving again as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Kohawks with day-to-day responsibilities as the hitting coach and position coach for catchers.
Jacob and his wife, Hillary, reside in Jacksonville.
Matthew White begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the baseball team in 2020. White is a 2011 graduate of IC and pitched for the Blueboys.
White works primarily with pitchers at Illinois College and helps with recruiting. He taught at Knoxville High School from 2011 until 2016 and was a pitching coach with the baseball team there during that time.
White was a History and Secondary Education major at Illinois College. He lives in Jacksonville with his girlfriend, Stacy, who is also an IC grad.
